The second phase of WFIP3 extends the land-based data collection systems to the offshore realm using an instrumented barge off the Atlantic Coast of the United States. Instrumentation from the University of Notre Dame includes a long-range Doppler wind lidar, W-band radar, microwave radiometer, and present weather detector.
